After being nominated and judged by Oklahoma bloggers, my blog has won an "Okie Blog Award" for best photography blog in 2009. The annual peer-selection competition, which began five years ago, not only serves as one of the few contest for Oklahoma bloggers, but also highlights the creativity and talent in the state.

There were a lot of people who I otherwise would have not discovered or connected with without it. Thanks to all who cast votes, left comments and or visited my Web site during the process.

This year, Jennifer James spearheaded all aspects of the awards. A special thanks goes out to her for the countless hours, which it takes to have a successful event such as this.

Also, Terry Clark, a good friend and one of my former professors at the University of Central Oklahoma took the award for "Best Writing" for his blog, "Coffee with Clark." Congrats to you sir. You've still got it.

If anything, at least take the opportunity to look around on the other photographer's Web sites. They are all wonderfully talented, well deserving of public recognition for their efforts and are now a fixture in my RSS feeds. I look forward to following their work.
